Playback was established to meet the social and emotional needs of children and young people with disabilities. We organise local events in order for them to meet with others socially, develop friendships, have fun and be part of their communities. We know that opportunities for people with disabilities is extremely limited in many areas. Playback aims to meet the needs of these children and young people by providing them with:
- access to community based leisure facilities and social opportunities
- opportunities to meet friends, feel safe and to be themselves
- opportunities to interact socially with others and develop friendships
We also provide volunteer opportunities for other young people who would be interested to support our Playbackers have some FUN!
The Playback Trust organises approximately 15 events/activities a year.
Events/activities generally take place on a Saturday and run for approximately six hours.
